This beautiful ART DECO piano made by Story & Clark,
called "STORYTONE" was built in 1939. It is the FIRST ELECTRONIC PIANO ever produced by RCA, exhibited
at the WORLD'S FAIR RCA Pavilion, creating a sensation!
RCA electrified it, making it the first ever electronic piano!
Each tone has an individual electronic pick up
and the sound is reproduced through the amplifier.
There are only few examples known to exist today. This
RCA electrified piano is therefore highly collectable and desirable
ART DECO item. We highly recommend this
piano to any sophisticated ART DECO or WORLD'S FAIR
collector. It is priceless and irreplaceable for any money!
This ART DECO piano is all original and in excellent
working condition. Needs tuning like any other piano that is being moved.
It is being sold as found. The amplified and the power unit have been reconditioned by an old-timer expert.

The Story and Clark STORYTONE, is not just a fine piano but it includes a self-contained electro-acoustic sound reinforcing system capable of reproducing every note from treble to bass, not only with exacting fidelity but with a volume range from the slightest
whisper to that of a powerful crescendo.

The selector-acoustic system consists of three major items. First, a magnetic “pickup” device which translates the mechanical
vibrations of each string onto electrical impulses. Second, a high fidelity electrical amplifier capable of reproducing the full
audio range and having an output of 15 Watts. Thirdly, an acoustic transducer system consisting of a ruggedly constructed
loudspeaker mechanism and a folded exponential baffle or horn capable of reproducing with remarkable fidelity and power
the tonal qualities required of the fine instrument of which it is a part.
